Summer 2015 Sessions at Hobby Lobby

Wednesdays:  June 3, 2015-July 29, 2015

Objective: Students will learn the fundamentals of operating a sewing machine in order to create various projects

 

Ages 7-12- 9 am- 11 pm- $35/ per session

Ages 13-16 11:30am- 1:30 pm -$35/ per session

Season Pass- $295 (for all 9 classes) savings of $20!

 

*Please be punctual for pick up and drop off of classes/ if there are no no shows within the first 15 minutes, class will be cancelled for the day.

*I always add a few extra inches to the fabric measurements in case a mistake is made/Always get more than you need

 

 

June 3- Intro to Sewing: Sewing Sampler and Pillow (Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

Supplies: 1 Yard of 100% Cotton Fabric, Coordinating Thread, Sewing Machine, Pillow filling, Sewing Shears, Pinking Shears, Tape Measure, Seam Ripper, and Dress Pins (*Students will learn Basic Patternmaking and create their own Pillow pattern)

 

June 9- Intro to Sewing: Gathered Skirt (Simplicity Pattern: 1186/Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

Supplies: Simplicity Pattern 1186- Project Letter A, 1 ½ Yard of 100% Cotton Fabric, 1 ¼ Yard of 1” Wide Elastic, Coordinating Thread, Sewing Machine, Sewing Shears, Pinking Shears, Tape Measure, Seam Ripper, and Dress Pins

 

June 16- Intro to Sewing: Ottoman (Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

Supplies: Simplicity Pattern 5105 – Project Letter A , 2 Yards of 100% Cotton Fabric (Denim, Twill, Heavier/Bottom Weight Fabric), 1 Bag of Pillow Filling (can use remainder from 1st project) , Coordinating Thread, Sewing Machine, Sewing Shears, Pinking Shears, Tape Measure, Seam Ripper, and Dress Pins

 

June 23- Intro to Sewing: Tote bag part 1 (Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

Supplies:  2 Yards of 100% Cotton Fabric (Denim, Twill, Heavier/Bottom Weight Fabric), 1 Bag of Pillow Filling (can use remainder from 1st project) , Coordinating Thread, Sewing Machine, Sewing Shears, Pinking Shears, Tape Measure, Seam Ripper, and Dress Pins (*Students will learn Basic Patternmaking and create their own Tote pattern)

 

June 30- Intro to Sewing: Tote bag part 2 (Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

July 1- Intro to Sewing: Pajama Pants (Ages 7-12 and Ages 13-16)

Supplies:  Simplicity Pattern 2134 (for ages 7-12) and Simplicity Pattern 1494 (for ages 13-16) 2 Yards of 100% Cotton Fabric (for Pattern 2134) and 3 Yards (For Pattern 1494 /Cotton and Cotton Blends, Flannel, Seersucker), 1 Yard of ½ “wide Elastic for Pattern 2134/ 2 Yards of ¾” Wide Elastic for Pattern, Coordinating Thread, Sewing Machine, Sewing Shears, Pinking Shears, Tape Measure, Seam Ripper, and Dress Pins
